La famille Dennis pratique l'agriculture dans cette région idyllique des Cornouailles depuis plus de 35 ans. Leur spécialité est l'élevage laitier avec 400 vaches dont des Holstein et des British Blues. Ils cultivent également de l'orge et engraissent du bétail pour la viande.

Vous ne pourriez pas être mieux placé pour profiter des Cornouailles, un comté sauvage très populaire pour les vacances. La petite ville de Looe, ses plages et ses excursions en bateau sont à une courte distance en voiture de la ferme. Plus loin sur la côte se trouve l'idyllique Fowey avec son estuaire et son port. Le complexe environnemental Eden Project est également facilement accessible. Chaque serre abrite un biome, l'un reproduisant les climats tropicaux humides et l’autre les climats chauds et secs de type méditerranéens. Des concerts sont également organisés l’été.
Les activités disponibles à Looe
En plus d'en apprendre davantage sur la production du lait, la ferme accueille de nouveaux agneaux chaque printemps et vous êtes les bienvenus pour aider les fermiers à les nourrir au biberon. Il y a beaucoup d'espace à la ferme pour que les jeunes puissent jouer et vous pouvez toujours garder un oeil sur eux depuis le confort de votre terrasse. Un bain nordique est également disponible à la location si vous avez envie de vous faire plaisir. Le cellier a plus qu'assez de provisions pour vous permettre de faire de bons plats maison sur le poêle à bois de votre lodge.

Very peaceful lovely farm ..the hot tub was disappointing I don’t think it should be communal considering the price every tent should have one the shop could be more stocked but overall a very nice place and so much space very tranquil

The farm was perfect and the host was wonderful. Our family had the most amazing holiday feeding the animals and enjoying the indoor and outdoor play area. We would definitely recommend and come back again. the tent was clean and spacious, bed were comfertable and we had everything we needed for a perfect week close to nature.

In my sons words this holiday was ‘awesome’!
From the moment we arrived Loretta was on hand to show us how everything worked/where things were. The honesty shop was a blessing for all the essentials we needed. The whole family were very welcoming, helpful, lovely people.
We came for the working farm experience and that is exactly what we got, we met animals and had a guided tour round the farm, watched the milking and got to meet some calf’s.
We would definitely stay again.

Heel gastvrij ontvangen, locatie wel een beetje lastig te vinden, zonder elektra & gas is even schakelen, maar dat went erg snel. Koken neemt iets meer tijd in beslag, maar dat heeft ook weer haar charme. Warme douche is dan wel weer luxe. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar

We had a fantastic stay at Gwel Teg Farm. The tents were spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped and comfortable. The hosts were really friendly and helpful and went above and beyond allowing our children to help with and see the animals and even putting on an Easter egg hunt for them. The fire in the tent kept us cosy and warm in the evenings and there was a plentiful supply of wood to use. We would love to return very soon and would highly recommend a stay here.

We had the best Easter break at Gwel Teg in Looe. Loretta was so welcoming and always on hand to answer any questions we had. The accommodation was perfect. We had a farm tour. Loretta even did an Easter egg hunt for all the children. Such a wonderful stay.

Het terrein oogde goed verzorgd, winkeltje bood ruimte voor één schap in de koelkast hetgeen voldoende was voor ons. Oplaadmogelijkheid mobiele telefoon in de winkel. de tent was keurig, heel ruim en met raampjes in de slaapruimtes hetgeen prettig is op warme dagen. Mooi fornuis, ruime keuken, prettige zitbank en eettafel. Kaarsen zijn ruim voorhanden, nette petroleumlampen, prettige douche en een formidabel uitzicht met elke avond een prachtige opkomst van de maan en ondergang van de zon. Op één dag een excursie gehad naar de boerderij met melkkoeien van de gastfamilie en gekeken naar de oogst van het graan. Contact met de boerin voornamelijk via de app, snelle respons op vragen. We verbleven in de "Looe"-tent die heel gunstig gelegen is qua uitzicht. We hadden gelukkig goed weer maar merkten wel dat de locatie gevoelig is voor wind. Tent goed afsluiten met de stevige sjorbanden is geen overbodige luxe. Materialen zijn heel degelijk. Brandhout was voldoende, BBQ voldeed, ook bij winderige omstandigheden.

3rd time doing this, and each time a different Featherdown site; this one the first time for about 10 years! Hot showers in the tent, and a wood burning stove that has an integrated oven, make a huge positive difference. Loved it - as we did each of the previous 2 times.

We have stayed in a few Featherdown sites around the UK, and enjoyed them all. Looe had by far the most spectacular views, rolling hills as far as the eye can see. Loretta and Mark were so friendly and accommodating, really adding to the whole experience.

We all had an absolutely brilliant time! The site was in a great location, the kids enjoyed seeing a working farm and the hosts Loretta and Mark and family were very hospitable showing us the farm.
There was lots to do in the surrounding area, beautiful beaches and activities.

We had an amazing stay with Loretta and Mark who couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating. They clearly want to make sure that every person enjoys their stay to the max. The farm was a real bonus and our children (14 and 12) loved being able to help out and get involved. It is a long time since we experienced customer care to this level. Thank you again!

Would definitely recommend this site. Our host, Loretta was friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond. Everything was very well organised and well run. Everything we needed was very conveniently located and easy to access. The tents were cleaned to perfection and had everything we needed and more. Added bonus was an en-suite bathroom with warm shower which was spotless. We enjoyed having the animals nearby and my daughter got to bottle feed Molly the lamb. A well stocked honesty shop and plenty of wood to use.

We had the most amazing 4 days here, real luxury! The lodge was very roomy and comfortable, the hot tub was fab and right next to the tent. The hosts were incredibly accommodating. It was a truly magical experience for our 3 year old daughter, bottle feeding a lamb, sleeping in a cupboard... fantastic!
